What happens when two Realtors from Big Sky, Montana are faced with a sudden down shift in the Market and are left with more energy than they know what to do with?? They form a new company called Juju Gear, of course. Once you rekindle an inner creativity, the possibilities are endless. Living in a ski resort, one of the girls noticed a
lack of a good athletic hat to wear under your ski helmet. After months of
research they finally found a supplier of a high performance, moisture wicking
fabric and the first three bolts of fabric were delivered on April 10, 2008.
Dining room tables were cleared, sewing machines were ordered and the prototype
began. In less than one year, Juju Hats are ready for mass
production entirely made in the The first markets were unbelievable. Not
only did they make a cool athletic hat, but because of its comfort and design,
they were getting orders from gift shops, equestrian centers, hair salons,
hospitals, cancer care boutiques, golf courses and yacht clubs. Once you’ve worn a Juju Hat, you’ll agree that they rock. A few months later with business booming, the girls were ready for the next step. Enter Juju Skirts. Made entirely from recycled t-shirts and other discarded clothing, the skirts were almost flying out the door at farmers markets, craft shows, and eventually through the internet and your favorite local stores. Each skirt is a one of a kind fashion statement. This evolved into Juju Scarves, with the same principle, and Juju Briefs. Anything can be made from reclaimed materials.
After many of the friendly folk met at shows asked Juju to make them a skirt out of an old tee that had been in the dresser for years, the girls realized they could expand their recycling by using shirts sent from their customers. They called the program "Rags to Riches" and now getting a completely unique and personal piece of recycled fashion is just an order away!
Enjoy our website, good Juju to you.
